I raced twice today, the 50+ and the 40+. Since I have told enough long self-serving self-absorbed tales mostly for my own amusement and no doubt the long suffering of others, I will not give race accounts. I will instead preach like Reverend Rod Parsley. About bike racing being about good people. The 7 Hills racing team has some really good people. One such really good person is Lou Beckmeyer. He not only gladly gave me his front wheel to use as he stood by the start finish watching the 50+ but then while I was racing on his very nice Kyserium he was walking around to the mechanics on hand to see if anyone could fix my badly untrue and spoke-deficient wheel without any luck. After finishing the 50+ race on Lou's wheel, I had asked if I could use it for the next race, the 40+. Turns out Lou was in that race, but in two seconds his teammate Mike said, "follow me". Next thing you know, Mike of 7 Hills was handing me a Zip 404 front wheel. Unbelievable. So my Echelon teammates, I have seen the light and I have waded into the water and the water is warm and I have had my sins all washed away, including that Piggly Wiggly I knocked off, and I swear, if you ever have the chance to return the favor to a 7 Hills guy or anyone else on my behalf, I will be eternally grateful.
